Enter the New Age!

Why have a New Age section in your bookstore?
Statistics show that the New Age, new thought, new alternatives book market comprises a growing market in the U.S. according to New Age Retailer trade magazine. New Age products and sidelines are in excess of $46.4 billion according to New Editions International, Ltd. As a successful independent bookseller, you owe it to yourself to capitalize on this niche.

Who is buying New Age books?
New Editions defines our New Age customer as predominately 30-59, with college degrees and post graduate education, and earning an above average income. Although this would suggest that New Age customer is of the Baby Boomer generation, other sources show that New Age books are not limited to any one demographic group. In fact, strong sales figures support a high level of interest from both the Y-generation (12- 20 years old) and the Gen X-ers (21-40).

What types of topics are covered in New Age books?
Books on angels, Native American spirituality, astrology, personal spiritual journeys, channeling, death & dying, divination, dreams, Eastern Traditions, Western Traditions, World Religions, family and parenting, Feng Shui, visionary fiction, health and healing, inspiration, love, sex, relationships, magic, Wicca and witchcraft, meditation and prayer, metaphysics, mysticism, mythology, goddess and pagan religions, the Occult, philosophy and religion, prophecy, consciousness, self-help, self-actualization, spirituality, social change, women's issues and the workplace are encompassed in the development of a well rounded New Age section.
